The Visiting of Governor of Cross River State,Nigeria

2015-11-13

Today we are hornored to meet the governor of Cross River State, and we sincerely hope to cooperate with friends old and new from Nigeria. Let's hand in hand create a bright future!

Agriculture of Cross River State
As a state in South Nigeria, bordering Cameroon to the east. Its capital is Calabar, and name derived from the Cross River (Oyono), there are many things worth talking about. Today we are happy to meet the governor. From him, we have learnt a new Cross River State.

Cross River benefits from its vast arable land and plentiful rainfall which makes for a state conducive to cultivation. Agricultural produce is the leading non-oil revenue contributor to the State's economy and employs at least 70 percent of the State's labour force. Investment in infrastructure and modern inputs -fertilizer, seeds, tools and agro-chemicals -- would greatly improve the quality and quantity of agricultural output. Oil Palms, Rubber and Cocoa are Cross River's major cash crops. A predicted steady and relatively high international cocoa price and potential to improve productivity makes cocoa farming an attractive investment prospect. Cross River's forests are a source of high quality oil palm, rubber and cashews. All are found in commercial quantities.
